Exfoliation is the number one anti aging tip – it is simply removing the top layer of dead skin cells. This encourages your body to speed up cell production to replace the removed cells with healthier, younger cells. This process also stimulates circulation and causes temporary plumping of the skin.
Ways to exfoliate:
Manual Scrub – these products contain granular particles that remove the skin layers through rubbing (gently) on the skin surface.
Exfoliating pads – such as buff puff. There are more frugal brands of these in drug stores. Start slowly and only use every few days.
Chemical peel – you can buy weaker skin peels from your local drug store. To get a deeper peel such as with tca (trichloroacetic acid) we recommend that you consult a dermatologist. This consultation will evaluate whether or not tca skin peels are right for your skin.
Exfoliating brushes – such as with the Clarisonic, mechanical scrub away the skin cells. Easy and fairly gentle.
