Starting Point With Core Exercises

Having a strong core is one of the main components of being fit and is the starting point on the road to being Fit, Frugal and Fabulous.

If you are new to this or any work out then start with simple core exercises. Increase the number of reps per week until you are working on your core at least 20 minutes 3 times per week.

Or try this simple core work out schedule:

Monday 30 crunches, plank on hands knees for as long as possible

Tuesday 40 crunches,

Wednesday Rest

Thursday 30 crunches, plank on hands and knees for as long as possible

Friday 40 cruches, plank on hands and knees for as long as possible

Saturday 50 crunches, plank on hands and knees for as long as possible

Sunday rest

Follow this schedule for at least 4 weeks until your muscles feel stronger and are no longer sore the following day.  After you complete this program you are ready to move to the Fit frugal and fabulous exercise schedule and routine.

Without a strong core, one is unable to balance, limiting the ability to do many weight bearing exercises.  Simple lunges and squats become impossible.  The posture of the back is reliant on strong abdominal, lateral and intercostal muscles.  The intercostal muscles are your breathing muscles.  Strong muscles in the chest is visually pleasing and also helps supply your body with healthful, beautifying oxygen.

I have seen slim, young women unable to do simple crunches.  If you are someone without absolutely any core strength then simple crunches and planks will start strengthening your core.
