Before beginning a training plan be sure to consult your physician to determine if you are healthy enough to begin a exercise program.

The first day of my Couch to 5K program is today.  I need to practice what I preach and get my lazy butt off of this comfortable chair and get my brain away from this brain sucking computer . This is coming from someone who has been very active in the past.  I wouldn’t say I was a big runner but someone who could easily run, I mean mostly walk and sometimes run a 5k in 30 minutes.  Fast forward to today where I have gained over 20 lbs. and haven’t done much in the way of walking over a mile in several months.  It is too cold today to start training outside, here in Ohio, so I will be using my treadmill. So you, my Fit, Frugal and Fabulous readers are my inspiration.  But enough about me this program is about us and our fitness goals.

Day 1 – Start by walking for as long as possible on the treadmill.  If you feel up to it you can speed up until you feel your heart beating. My goal today is to walk for 30 minutes. Are you with me?

Update: I have only done two days of this in the past week. I am going to continue my plan once I get past these 60 hour work weeks.
