Beauty Soak

A luxurious long beauty soak in a tub of warm water has many beautifying benefits.

Fill your bath tub with warm water and add some Epsom salts.  These salts contain magnesium which is an essential nutrient and helps ease cramping in muscles.

Add a few drops of mineral oil to the bath if you have dry skin.

Coat the dry ends of your hair with a hair mask or deep conditioner.

Put on a facial mask to clear away debris from pores if you have oily skin.

Relax as you soak away any pent up tension or strain from the day.  Visualize the harmful effects of the day soaking away.  Feel any stresses or negative thoughts melting away into the water.  Soak for at least 20 minutes.  Beauty soak can be used when anxiety is causing binging behavior because it takes you away from the situation to allow some time to regroup and refocus on your diet motivations and goals.

Breathe in deeply for a few moments to fill your lungs with healthy oxygen. Finish with a body scrub.  Rinse away any residual soap or salts and give yourself a vigorous towel buff to dry off.  This will help circulate the oxygen throughout your body.

A beauty soak is not only beneficial to our external beauty but is also helps internally by reducing stress and anxiety.  Reduction of stress and anxiety on the inside lessens skin problems on the outside.  This reduction of stress and anxiety also lessens overeating and other self destructive behaviors.

Beauty soak is now added to the frugal beauty maintenance schedule at least once per week.
